Place 1 cup each whole cashews, whole almonds, pecan halves and hazelnuts in a 2-3 quart slow cooker.  In a small bowl, combine:

1/2 cup sugar     1/3 cup melted butter

1 teasp grd ginger      1/2 teasp salt

1/2 teasp grd cinnamon     1/4 teasp grd cloves

1/4 teasp cayenne pepper

Blend well, pour over nuts and mix well.  cover and cook on low for 2 hours,

stir halfway thru.   Stir and spread on buttered foil and cool completely.

Store in a covered container.   Makes 4 cups.
