3 1/2 cups sifted flour 1 teasp salt
Sift together - cut in:
1 cup shortening (1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup shortening)
1 pkg dried yeast and 1/4 cup warm water....dissolved well,
add in to the creamed mixture. Mix well by hand. Add the sour cream
and the eggs and yolks and blend well. Add vanilla. Cover dough and
chill for a couple of hours. Divide dough in half and roll out half onto a
sugared board into an 8/16 rectangle. Sprinkle with 1/3 cup sugar, fold
over the dough, roll out again, sprinkle with 1/3 cup sugar, fold over
dough and repeat one more time. Cut into 1x4" strips. Twist and place
on ungrsd cookie sheet in a horseshoe fashion. When all are done,
bake at 375 for 15 mins. While warm, cover with glaze:
1/2 cup butter, 2/3 cup sugar, 1/2 cup orange juice heat til smooth,
pour over the warm cookies.
Cool and remove.
