3/4 cup flour 3/4 cup granulated sugar Mix well and set aside
preheat your oven to 375.....bake time will be about 30-40 mins.
Remember: It is important that you do not have ANY bits of egg yolks in with your
egg whites or your batter will not mix properly. Also, use very clean utensils-it is important
that they are free from any oils or grease. Pans must be very clean, too. Do no grease
the baking pans for angel food cake batter.
1 1/2 cups egg whites 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 1/2 teasp cream of tartar
1 1/2 teasp vanilla 1/2 teasp almond flavor 1/4 teasp salt
Place egg whites in a glass bowl and begin mixing until frothy. Gradually add the sugar....
then add cream of tartar, vanilla, almond and salt. Continue mixing until the batter develops
peaks which stand in the bowl. Fold in 1/4 cup of the flour/sugar mixture at a time....until
incorporated....do not overmix. Gently place batter into angel food cake pan or use two loaf
apsns. Use a butter knife to cut thru the batter to release large pockets of air. Bake at 375
for 30-40 minutes. Do not open the oven door. Once done, cracks should be dry and no
longer moist. Invert pan over a large bottle while it cools completely.
NOTE: You can add 1/2 cup diced maraschino cherries into the batter if desired....
