2 cups flour     1 teasp baking powder      3 Tablsp sour cream

1/2 cup plus 3 Tablsp unsalted butter      1/2 cup plus 3 Tablsp powdered sugar

1 egg yolk         1 teasp vanilla                      fresh grated peel of 1 lemon

1 1/2 lbs fresh ripe plums, halved lengthwise, pitted, tossed with lemon juice

Combine flour, and baking powder, add the butter and sour cream, 1/2 cup

powder sugar, egg yolk, vanilla and peel.  Work the mixture with your hands into

a medium soft dough.  Press dough into a ball, cover and chill for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 430 degrees, butter a 10" springform pan, slice the dough and place

in the pan, presing evenly.  Arrange the plums, cut sides up on the bottom layer of

the dough.  Bake for 20-25 minutes.  Remove from the oven sprinkle with powdered

sugar that remains.  Let cool completely.
