Butterscotch Cookies
From: Barb of Findlay
4 cups packed brown sugar                1 cup shortening
4 eggs, beaten                                  1 Tablsp. Cream of tartar
1 Tablsp. Baking soda                       1 Tablsp vanilla
6 cups all purpose flour
Mix all these ingredients well, form the dough into logs. Chill the logs overnight. Slice cookies and put onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until slightly crisp.
