Peanut Butter & Jelly Oat Bars

1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar         ¾ cup butter flavor Crisco
½ cup creamy peanut butter                       2 cups &  2 Tablsp flour
1 teasp salt                                              ½ teasp baking soda
1 ½ cups quick oats                                  1/3 cup water
1 cup strawberry preserves

Preheat oven to 400, spray a 9x13 pan
Combine brown sugar, Crisco and peanut butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer until well blended. Mix together flour, salt and baking soda…gradually add into the creamed mixture with the electric mixer at low speed until mixed. Stir in oats with a spoon. Add water 1 Tablsp at a time. Press half the dough into the bottom of the pan, top with the preserves, then with the remaining dough. Make sure the preserves are completely covered. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Cut into bars while still warm.
