Spicy Chili with Spaghetti

1 Tablsp canola oil               1 ½ cups diced onion           2 cloves garlic, diced
1-2 jalapenos, diced             1 pound lean grd beef           1 Tablsp chili powder
2 teasp ground cumin           2 teasp dried oregano           15 oz. can kidney beans
14 oz diced tomatoes           8 oz mild salsa                    12 oz spaghetti noodles
shredded cheddar cheese

In a large kettle, heat oil, add in 1 cup of the onion, the garlic and jalapenos and sauté for 4 minutes, stirring often.  Add in the meat and cook until browned.  Add in the chili powder, cumin and oregano.  Cook for one minute, then add in the drained and rinsed beans, tomatoes with the juice and the salsa.   Bring it to a boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Season with salt and pepper.  Cook spaghetti according to pkg. directions.
Serve the chili over portions of the spaghetti noodles, top with cheese. And remaining onions.

This recipe reminds me of an out of control great tasting version of Cincinnati style chili... can't wait to try it.
