5 slices of bacon, crisp/crumbled 1/2 cup diced green onions
2 Tablsp butter 3 cups fine sliced iceberg lettuce 1/2 cup instant flour
3 1/2 cups chicken broth, heated 1 cup diced fresh tomatoes
1/8 teasp grated fresh nutmeg 1/8 teasp grd red pepper
1 cup half n half cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise mixed with 1/4 cup sour cream
In a soup kettle is where you should cook the bacon, remove meat. To the
grease, saute the onions and cook until tender. Add the butter and melt.
Add the lettuce and saute, stirring often. Sprinkle with the flour and stir it in.
Add the broth, tomatoes, nutmeg and pepper. Heat to boiling - stirring
constantly and reduce heat, simmer 5-10 mins. Add cream and mix well. Top each bowl with a dollop of mayo mixture and the bacon pieces.
