4 cups diced potatoes OR bag of diced hash browns

8 oz. sour cream

1 env ranch dressing mix

1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces

place potatoes into crockpot or casserole dish

combine sour cream, butter and mix.  Stir into taters.

Bake covered at 325 for 1 hour.  Uncover and top with

1 cup shredded cheese.

Crockpot:  Combine all, cover and cook on low for

6-8 hours, or on high for 4 hours.

Stir well and serve.
